Travel footage from DJI Pocket 3 and Pocket 4 often includes mixed lighting: bright skies, shaded streets, cafes, water, skin tones, and sunset scenes in the same edit. A LUT can help unify the look, but the settings matter.
Start with the basics
Before applying a LUT, correct exposure and white balance. A LUT will not fix a clip that is too dark, too bright, or heavily color-cast.
Use LUT intensity as a creative control
For clean travel footage, start around a medium LUT strength, then reduce if highlights look too heavy or colors feel too stylized. For moody scenes, you can push the LUT higher, but still check skin and skies.
Scene-by-scene tips
- Bright sky and water: lower contrast slightly and protect highlights.
- Cafe or indoor scenes: correct white balance before adding warmth.
- Sunset: reduce saturation if orange tones become too strong.
- Street clips: keep shadows detailed enough for mobile viewing.
- Drone-style travel shots: watch greens and blues so they do not look artificial.
Good LUT settings are flexible
